Position Description:
The Production Control Coordinator supports the Production Department by managing Job Travelers, tracking operator efficiency, and keeping production records accurate. This role also helps improve processes, create standard procedures, and ensures smooth communication between production and other departments to keep operations running efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Objectives & Mission: Understand the objectives and mission of Ward Manufacturing, and the responsibilities of the Production Control department and work towards those goals.
2. Safety:
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company policies and procedures and complying with established regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Follow all safety regulations during all activities, keeping equipment properly maintained to avoid hazards that could cause harm to other employees.
3. Job Traveler Management:
- Review, update, and print Job Travelers for production to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review and update completed job travelers and maintain version control in JobBOSS to ensure documentation consistency across production orders.
4. Operator Efficiency Tracking:
- Collect and analyze daily operator efficiency data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with supervisors to ensure efficiency metrics are accurately reported and used for data-driven decision-making.
5. Process Improvement & Documentation:
- Develop, implement and maintain standard processes and procedures for the Production Control department.
- Assist in refining workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency in production reporting.
- Recommend and implement Production Control key performance indicators (KPIs) that contribute to improving company efficiency, performance and quality.
6. Interdepartmental Coordination:
- Collaborate with production supervisors, scheduling, and quality teams to ensure seamless information flow.
- Support communication between production and administrative departments to facilitate smooth operations.
7. General Administrative Support:
- Maintain organized production control records and documentation.
- Assist with special projects and reporting related to production efficiency and process development.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or administrative training is a plus.
- Prior experience in production control, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with production processes and documentation systems is an advantage.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to track, analyze, and report production data effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment by following established safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing workflows.
