Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels in residential settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical plans.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete electrical installations and repairs.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
- Work on renovation projects, including updating existing wiring systems or installing new electrical components during construction or remodeling phases.
- Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage systems effectively.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as frame carpenters or general contractors to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless execution.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an electrician with a strong background in residential wiring projects.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and industrial electrician experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with commercial electrician practices, construction site experience, and renovation projects is highly desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
- Understanding of low voltage systems, NEC standards, high voltage safety protocols, and low voltage wiring is essential.
- Experience working on construction sites with the ability to adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
- Handyman experience or additional skills such as frame carpentry can be advantageous for versatile project support.
