Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and commission EV charging stations in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards, and NEC guidelines.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics to identify and resolve issues with existing charging systems or related electrical infrastructure.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to ensure precise installation and troubleshooting.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and connections safely while adhering to all electrical safety procedures.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and industrial electrical components.
- Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new build projects to integrate EV charging infrastructure seamlessly into existing commercial electrical systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including installation reports, troubleshooting logs, and compliance records.
Experience
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong background in electrical wiring, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical wiring, industrial electrical systems, and low voltage applications.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) requirements for safe electrical work practices.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and ohmmeters.
- Construction site experience involving renovation projects or new installations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation is a plus.
- Experience reading electrical blueprints and schematics accurately in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work safely following all electrical safety procedures while maintaining high-quality standards on every project.
