Job Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for keeping the Welcome Center and surrounding areas clean, safe, and presentable. Duties include general cleaning, restroom sanitization, trash collection, minor repairs, limited groundskeeping, and maintaining supplies. This role also supports a positive guest experience by ensuring a welcoming and orderly environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the Welcome Center.
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms.
- Performs limited grounds maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns and hedges.
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitors room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Communicate comfortably with guests and colleagues;
- Deliver a first-class experience to all guests and visitors;
- Trash collection;
- Wash down of docks and facility grounds as needed;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Ability to keep the school clean and orderly.
- Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
