Job Summary:
The Material Control Manager will plan and oversee the daily material needs for the production of goods for the factory.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains new employees.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Purchasing, Receiving and Shipping
- Check the cost, specs, and appearance of existing ingredient and packaging
- Make Purchase Order for ingredient, packaging, plant supply and special-order materials that are low on inventory, and receive these materials from suppliers.
- Put-away and shipping of ingredient, package and WIP items, and fill out the “Product Receiving Log”
- Management of Inventory
- Perform weekly and end of the month physical inventory
- Manage the data of inventory and analyze data
- Propose solutions to reduce discrepancies.
- Management of Material Control System
- Register and change the material and vendor masters
- Register and change the items and WIP costs
- Enter the data of shipping/receiving, forecast/actual order, and physical inventory
Tasks related to risk of material procurement
Tasks related to distress materials and WIP items
Share the information about the substitute materials to stakeholders
Perform all other tasks related to the above responsibilities
- Ad hoc duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years supervisory and management experience
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Understand and conduct Lean Management
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools
- Interpersonal skills such as teamwork and good listening skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to meet production goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required; M.B.A. preferred.
- Five years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
Salary : $96,800 - $123,000
