What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd shift Welding Robot Set-up position at Wanzl North America?
Job Description
- Basic MIG Welding Experience a must.
- Working experience with MIG Welding Robots.
- Create, maintain, backup, and standardize weld programs for optimal, defect-free performance.
- Responsible for effective and efficient set-ups to ensure the proper changeover of welding jigs is completed accurately, efficiently and in an appropriate timeframe.
- Understand and recognize the importance of multiple MIG welding parameters such as torch angle, wire speed, voltage/amperage effects, optimizing weld speeds and obtaining proper penetration with minimal splatter.
- Troubleshoot welding issues; determine root cause using basic welding parameters to achieve a good weld.
- Assist in the preventive maintenance of robots and welding jigs.
- Train and assist department operators as needed.
- Welding repairs as needed.
- Basic fabrication projects outside of production demands.
- Familiar with Lean Principals including 5s, SMED, and TPM to help drive Department efficiency.
- Understanding of LOTO procedures to prevent possible injuries.
- Ability to read and translate measurements on product diagrams.
