1st Shift Packaging Line Lead

Summary

The Packaging Line Lead is responsible for coordinating and working alongside team members in the manual assembly and packaging of corrugated displays and related products. This position ensures that daily production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with consistent product quality. The Line Lead also assists with material movement, staging, and other general warehouse activities to support overall operations. This is a 1st shift position that runs from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday thru Friday! 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review production orders and job tickets to confirm product type, display style, quantities, and packaging requirements.
• Assign tasks and guide team members through folding, display building, hand-filling, labeling, and palletizing.
• Verify quality and presentation throughout the shift; promptly correct or report any issues.
• Operate a forklift or pallet jack to move materials, finished goods, or waste as needed.
• Stage materials, corrugated components, and packaging supplies to keep lines stocked and running efficiently.
• Assist with receiving, storage, or outbound shipments when production volume allows.
• Train and coach team members on proper assembly methods, safety practices, and line efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Promote and enforce all company safety policies, ensuring PPE is worn and forklift safety procedures are followed.
• Communicate material needs, production updates, and quality concerns to the Packaging Supervisor in real time.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned to support packaging and warehouse operations.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Support a small team of packaging associates and temporary workers on assigned lines.
• Provide direction, feedback, and motivation to maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the shift regarding job changes, materials, or production priorities.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in packaging, assembly, or warehouse operations.
• Prior experience in a lead or team-coordination role preferred.
• Forklift certification or the ability to become certified required.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive manual tasks safely.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
