About WANDRD
WANDRD is an award-winning brand designing premium gear for creatives, adventurers, and everyday explorers. We’re a lean, founder-led team with operations across ecommerce, Amazon, Kickstarter, and wholesale—plus international fulfillment and VAT/tariff complexity.
We’re looking for a Controller who brings more than just clean books—we need someone who can bring structure to our finances, reduce inventory bloat, improve forecasts, and improve profitability.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on, mid-to-senior level Controller to take ownership of WANDRD’s accounting, cashflow, and financial operations—with a strong emphasis on inventory and purchasing strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with our supply chain team to tie inventory purchasing to financial strategy, improve forecast accuracy, and reduce excess stock.
This is a highly cross-functional role that bridges accounting, finance, supply chain, and leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep inventory experience, strong modeling skills, and a bias toward actionable insight—not just reporting.

- Coordinate with external tax firm for year-end filings, sales tax, 1099s, etc.

- Assist in tracking and reviewing key vendor contracts, software subscriptions, and service agreements
- Support vendor negotiation by providing financial visibility on contract value, renewal timing, and impact on margins
Inventory & Purchasing Oversight
- Partner with our supply chain team to align inventory buys with sales forecasts, lead times, and cash availability
- Review and challenge forecast assumptions and reorder proposals based on SKU-level performance, inventory turnover, and margin
- Analyze inventory aging, slow-moving SKUs, and overstock exposure—recommend action plans
- Help implement better tracking tools for landed cost, inventory valuation, and purchasing impact
Financial Systems & Process Optimization
- Evaluate and improve financial processes, especially around inventory, COGS, and margin tracking
- Own system integration of financial data from Shopify, Amazon FBA, 3PL, etc.
- Build internal dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility for leadership

- 5–8 years of accounting/finance experience, ideally in ecommerce, wholesale, or product-based businesses
- Direct experience with inventory accounting, purchasing processes, and forecast validation
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills—can build and maintain models for cashflow, margin, and inventory planning
- Proven ability to manage month-end close and produce clean, audit-ready financials
- Experience tying financial decisions to operational planning, especially inventory
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to Shopify, NetSuite, and Amazon FBA

- CPA or public accounting experience
- Experience building dashboards (Excel, Google Sheets, NetSuite, etc.)
