About Wander Studio Interiors

Wander Studio Interiors is a growing boutique design firm specializing in thoughtful, authentic interiors for Hospitality, Multi-Family, Senior Housing, and Single-Family environments. We believe in creating spaces that exude thoughtfulness, driven by guest/end user real people, real materials, and real connections.

Position Overview

We're seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 7 years of professional experience in commercial and multi-family housing interiors with a strong technical background to join our collaborative team. This role is ideal for a designer who can lead projects with minimal oversight managing schedules, client relationships, and deliverables while independently and proficiently producing accurate, detailed and well-coordinated Tenant Improvement (TI) and small Construction Documentation (CD) sets in Revit.

You'll take ownership of project delivery from concept through construction administration and serve as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and vendors.

You should also be curious, aware, and obsessed with design! Have a willingness to learn, collaborate, be spontaneous, and have fun!

What You Need

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in interior design, Architecture, or related field, with 7 years of experience in hospitality, multi-family housing and/or senior housing design.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, budgeting, task delegation, and client communication with minimal supervision. Experience in Studio Designer for procurement and project tracking preferred; comfortable adopting new project management systems and design software as needed.
  • Design Software: Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including independently producing TI and small CD sets (floor plans, RCPs, elevations, details, and finish/furniture plans) ready for permit and construction. Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam and AutoCAD; Photoshop experience preferred.
  • Technical Documentation: Demonstrated ability to lead FFE selection, material sourcing, and TI/CD documentation with a high degree of accuracy and minimal redlining from senior staff. Comfortable coordinating directly with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Project Leadership: Experience guiding projects through all phases including concept, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration while maintaining quality control and meeting deadlines with limited oversight.
  • Relationship-Building: Exceptional communication skills with clients, product representatives, contractors, and internal team members. Able to represent Wander Studio Interiors confidently in client-facing meetings and site coordination.
  • Design Process: Strong command of design concept development, material selection, finish palettes, and presentation preparation, paired with the technical rigor to carry those concepts through buildable documentation.

What You'll Do

Project Management

  • Independently manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent TI and multi-family/senior housing projects, working a minimum of 20 hours/week (2 days in-office, remainder remote) with room to grow as project load increases.
  • Set and track project milestones from concept through construction administration, flagging risks to scope, schedule, or budget before they become problems.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and consultants, keeping all parties aligned without requiring principal-level check-ins.

Tenant Improvement & Construction Documentation

  • Independently produce TI and small CD sets in Revit — floor plans, RCPs, elevations, interior details, and finish/furniture plans — ready for permit submission and construction with minimal senior review.
  • Coordinate drawing sets directly with architects, contractors, and code consultants to resolve conflicts and maintain accuracy through construction administration.
  • Perform quality control review of documentation produced by junior team members, catching errors before sets go out for permit or bid.

Design Concept & Materials Sourcing

  • Lead design concept development, finish palettes, and client presentation materials for assigned projects.
  • Own the materials library and vendor relationships, sourcing finishes, furniture, and fixtures and keeping resources current and organized across projects.
  • Specify FFE packages and manage procurement documentation in coordination with the design team.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Lead client proposals and project meetings, building and maintaining strong client relationships over the life of each project.
  • Communicate design decisions and documentation status clearly to non-technical stakeholders as well as technical partners like architects and contractors.

Continuous Learning & Creativity

  • Bring a strong point of view on wellness- and sustainability-focused design, and stay current on materials, codes, and industry best practices.

To Apply

Send the following to team@wander-studio.com:

  • Your resume
  • A TI set or condensed CD set where you served as lead and produced 90% or more of the work on your own.
  • A portfolio of the projects you're most proud of designing (or contributing to as part of a design team), including process work, not just final images. Please keep your portfolio to 10 pages or fewer.
