Wanco Inc. is seeking an Electrical Assembly Lead in our Aurora, CO production facility.


Summary:


Position Summary

Wanco Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Assembly Lead to oversee the day-to-day activities of the Electrical Assembly team in our Aurora, Colorado production facility. The Lead Electrical Assembler serves as a working leader who provides direction, training, and support to Electrical Assemblers while ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.

This role combines hands-on assembly responsibilities with leadership duties, including coordinating workflow, monitoring performance, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing leadership experience, strong electrical assembly knowledge, experience in a lean manufacturing environment, and the ability to lead by example.

Essential Functions

Leadership & Team Coordination

· Lead, coach, and support Electrical Assemblers to achieve daily production goals.

· Assign and coordinate work based on production schedules and staffing needs.

· Provide hands-on training, cross-training, and mentorship to team members.

· Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to promote productivity and quality.

· Support Supervisor and Manager with workforce planning, staffing, and scheduling activities.

· Promote a positive team environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

· Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.

Production & Assembly

· Perform electrical assembly, wiring, installation, and testing of products according to engineering specifications and work instructions.

· Ensure employees are following established assembly procedures and quality standards.

· Utilize hand tools, power tools, drill guns, and other production equipment safely and effectively.

· Assist with troubleshooting assembly issues and resolving production bottlenecks.

· Rework and repair assemblies as required by engineering changes or quality findings.

· Support inventory control and material availability at workstations.

· Assist with packing and preparing finished products for shipment when needed.

Quality & Safety

· Conduct quality audits and work inspections throughout the production process.

· Verify products meet specifications prior to release to the next operation or shipment.

· Identify defects, document quality concerns, and implement corrective actions.

· Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.

· Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas using 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.

· Promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the department.

Administrative & ERP Responsibilities

· Utilize ERP and manufacturing systems to track production activities, inventory transactions, and labor reporting.

· Maintain accurate production, quality, and training records.

· Communicate production status, issues, and improvement opportunities to management.

· Participate in daily production meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Decision-Making

· Demonstrate proficiency in executing effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies to identify, investigate, and eliminate the underlying causes of production, quality, safety, equipment, and process-related issues. The Lead is responsible for utilizing structured problem-solving tools, including 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.


Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or GED.

· Minimum 3 years of electrical assembly or manufacturing experience.

· Minimum 1 year of leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience reading and following assembly instructions, drawings, and specifications.

· Experience working within an ERP system.

· Ability to train and develop employees.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

· Basic computer skills, including data entry and navigation of manufacturing software.

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred

· Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Continuous Improvement experience.

· Knowledge of electrical wiring, harness assemblies, and troubleshooting techniques.

· Experience supporting production scheduling and workflow management.

· Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to analyze and resolve production and quality concerns.

· Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

· Ability to motivate and engage team members while maintaining productivity standards.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

· Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.

· Frequently perform repetitive motions involving hands and arms.

· Regular use of manual dexterity to assemble components accurately.

· Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform physical work in a manufacturing environment.

· Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.


Hours: M-F 6am-4:30pm and Saturday work required.

Reporting: This position reports to the Production Manager.

Salary Range: $25-$30 per hour based on qualifications.
