As part of the Moraine Lakes Consortium, this position is responsible for determining initial and continued eligibility for programs that include Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus, Food Share (SNAP), Child Care, and Caretaker Supplement.

As an agent of the Moraine Lakes Call Center this position will:
Provide superior customer service, answer consumer questions and explain program and eligibility requirements.
Conduct intake and renewal interviews with consumers to collect information necessary to determine eligibility for Medicaid, Food Share, Child Care, Caretaker Supplement and other economic support services either by phone or in person.
Inform consumers of their rights and responsibilities, including the need to report changes within proper guidelines. Distribute designated forms and publications as required by the State.
Effectively communicate verbally or in writing with customers who have varied reading, writing, and speaking abilities.
Apply critical thinking skills while entering consumer data into CARES and other state and local computer systems for both initial and ongoing casework to ensure policies are applied correctly and accurate benefits are being issued. Preserve written documentation in electronic case files and computer systems as required by program guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA requirements.
Meet agency, consortium and state performance requirements and state contract benchmarks regarding timely case processing, FoodShare error rates, call center wait times and speed of answer.
Comprehend and interpret complex policies, procedure manuals, legal, medical, and financial documents, and communicate with other professionals such as attorneys, social workers, and legal representatives.
Be flexible and responsive as demands change, to work independently, and to be a positive team member. Adhere to professional ethics and standards. Must be organized, dependable, and accurate.
Maintain knowledge of complicated and ever-changing Federal and State rules, policies and procedures for numerous Income Maintenance programs.
Follow agency procedures regarding error prone profile, front end verification and fraud investigation.
Refer consumers to other available resources such as the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM), social workers, homeless prevention project, food pantries, community health nurses and mental health professionals, etc.
Participate in internal meetings, training workshops and seminars as required or mandated by the state.
Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.
