Library Paraprofessional
Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to have an individual who can assist the librarian in non-instructional duties such as clerical, record-keeping, and supervision of the main circulation desk. They will also assist in supervising students in the Library Space. The presence of a library paraprofessional allows the library teacher to dedicate more time to collaboration and instruction with teachers and students.
Description of Duties:

- Provides a safe, supportive learning environment for every student
- Creates library bulletin board and monthly displays
- Laminates for school staff
- Assists in processing and cataloging new books, repair and/or discard books
- Runs Library Reports using Destiny Library Software
- Monthly Overdue Reports/Notices
- Library usage by each department
- Daily walk-ins, study, and lunch statistics
- Circulation desk management
- Checking out library materials
- Assisting staff and students with research
- Shelving and shelf-reading
- Assist in ordering and maintaining library supplies.
- Maintain and troubleshoot computers, printers, and other technology inventory problems

- Demonstrates willingness to share and exchange ideas, skills, techniques and
materials.
- Accepts and implements school and district decisions, complying with school department procedures and school committee policies.
Supervised by the Library Teacher, Principal and/or Director.
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:
- High school diploma, two years of higher education preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, under the direction of the library teacher.
Salary: As per the WEA contract.
