What are the responsibilities and job description for the Andover, KS General Laborer/Form Carpenter/Concrete Finisher position at Walters-Morgan?
We're looking for experienced Concrete Laborers/Carpenters/Finishers to join our team!
Walters-Morgan Construction is based out of Manhattan, Kansas and we have active projects located throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 4 years experience in field construction is (preferred).
- Construction & installation experience in some or all of the following areas:
- Hand-set forms, gang forms, round and square structures, foundations, walls, slabs, columns, sidewalks, elevated decks, and more.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work within crews with 4-8 people.
- Must have a safety mindset and a good understanding of construction safety standards.
- The ideal candidate will understand that the entire project will not just be pouring concrete, and will also do other tasks as necessary to help push the project towards completion. Some of these other tasks may include:
- Operating a variety of equipment such as skid loaders, excavators & wheel loaders.
- Installing equipment, such as pumps, piping, and valves.
- Assisting with loading/unloading material deliveries and properly storing onsite.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants
- Familiar with different types of concrete mix designs, aggregates, slumps, water/air ratios, curing techniques, etc.
- Ability to read & interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications (preferred).
- Inspection of forms, support systems, and concrete reinforcement prior to concrete placement to ensure no issues are present.
- OSHA 10/30 training (preferred)
