Desktop Prepress

Job Summary:

As a Desktop Prepress – Technician, you are responsible for performing routine duties under general supervision to inspect and prepare files, to ensure maintenance of quality standards, and manufacturing requirements.

Required Systems/Applications:

• Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and Photoshop

Essential Functions:

• Review, inspect and troubleshoot digital files for final output.
• Work with PDF, InDesign files, Image editing files (Tiff, JPEG & PSD).
• Perform file maintenance for safe keeping and easy retrieval of customer supplied files.
• Prepare & check page proofs for completeness, identification, and proper mechanicals according to customer and company instructions.
• Review customer revisions/corrections against provided instructions/information to ensure completion.
• Determine if preceding departments have followed proper planning procedures to meet manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate to produce and prioritize jobs and when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates.
• Route completed work to appropriate departments.
• Assisting in the FedEx area, mailing packages and logging for all areas of the plant.
• Communicate with internal management & coworkers efficiently and respectfully.
• All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and InDesign.
• General customer service and phone etiquette skills.
• Ability to deal with problems in or from standardized situations.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
