Position Summary
This part-time position is responsible for serving as setup/tear down coordinator and AV person for campus wide events; coordinating all rental items for events campus-wide; training students on set-ups, tear-downs, and other event related tasks; providing conference support presence at specified conferences, weddings and non-recurring special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate set-ups and tear-downs campus-wide
- Event preparations and event rep/AV person
- Schedule set-up staff
- Coordinate rental furniture/equipment/linens
- Maintain the set up equipment, supplies and inventory; (centerpieces, pads, pens, easels, etc.)
- Scrutinize set up instructions and request forms
- Inspect set-ups and clean-ups
- Ensure staff is available before, during and after events
- Required to check availability of tools needed for set-ups
- Interaction with all internal/external departments
- Update daily signage on all street entrances
- Prepare PowerPoint drawings for set-up crew
- Various duties related to the function of Hoover Park including opening, closing, scheduling repairs and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:
Education: High School Diploma Required. Associates Degree or beyond preferred.
Work Experience: Prefer at least 1-year experience in a college or event environment utilizing exceptional customer service skills. Ability to quickly learn new processes and programs. Ability to work independently without close supervision and ability to make appropriate decisions and use good judgement. Well-developed communication skills a must.
Skills and abilities:
Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
