Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a Director of Information Technology who is responsible for leading the strategic vision and daily operations of technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and instructional innovation. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the secure, reliable, and mission-aligned use of technology across campus. The Director of Information Technology is expected to manage systems, people, and processes that support faculty, staff, students, and families. The Director works under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer to align technology strategy with the school’s Catholic educational mission and operational goals.
Major Responsibilities:
I. Strategic Technology Leadership
a. Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with the school’s Catholic mission and strategic goals
b. Manage technology budget, procurement, vendor relationships, contracts, and licensing renewals
II. Infrastructure, Systems, and Cybersecurity Oversight
a. Oversee cybersecurity strategy, risk assessment, incident response, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance
b. Maintain and secure, either through internal resources or third party vendors, the network infrastructure, servers, databases, audio-visual systems, and campus-wide hardware/software
c. Provide reliable support for school events, liturgies, and performances through AV and broadcast systems
d. Lead initiatives such as student iPad content control deployment and mobile device management.
III. Blackbaud and Application Ecosystem Management
a. Administer the Blackbaud education suite (LMS, SIS, finance, advancement) to support operational excellence.
b. Ensure system integration, data integrity, and user training across platforms.
c. Optimize workflows and user access while ensuring appropriate permissions and data privacy.
d. Comfortable working in a either Mac, PC, iPad, Google, or a mixed environment, making recommendations for the suitability of each solution for school needs
IV. Team Leadership and End-User Support
a. Supervise and mentor a team of 2–3 IT professionals while fostering a service-oriented culture.
b. Provide help-desk and troubleshooting support as needed across campus.
c. Deliver training and ongoing support to faculty and staff on instructional technologies.
V. Faith Formation
a. Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formation.
b. Regular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduled.
Core Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including staff supervision and budget oversight
  • Prior experience in a K-12 independent or Catholic school environment highly desirable
  • Deep expertise in network administration, cybersecurity best practices, Windows/Server environments, and cloud services
  • Proven proficiency with Blackbaud education-management platforms highly desired
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Compensation and Benefits
