Position: Senior Designer

Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Support and lead User Experience strategy and innovation by evaluating the current competitive landscape for compelling customer experiences, analyzing future trends and forecasts in related fields, and presenting information within and across the organization to gain strategic alignments and promote enhancements. Propose hypothesis for research. Provide inputs to modify research approaches and execution plans. Guide research processes with inputs regarding type, quality, and quantity of data and information to be collected. Verify the reliability of and accuracy of the information. Detect any gaps and remove unreliable information. Clarify and resolve inconsistencies in the data. Analyze and interpret relevant data for results and important insights. Translate research insights and metrics into actionable recommendations that inform design and business strategies. Assess gaps between business expectations and user experience strategies. Leverage a deep understanding of trends in user consumption habits to develop or improve interaction design and user experience strategies. Anticipate and mitigate risks during information synthesis and arrive at possible solutions for interactive designs. Analyze and interpret existing data (e.g., web analytics, user surveys, customer support calls). Define and document design details through process flows, site maps, wireframes, and functional specifications.  Adhere to and use interaction patterns and templates to design consistent and scalable design solutions. Understand the basics of testing against a design specification. Identify major activities and documents associated with user acceptance testing. Cite multiple examples and types of acceptance tests for user acceptance testing. Compile a list of procedures and guidelines for tests developers and end users. Explain the features and objectives of alpha and beta tests. Define and document design details with accurate design specifications in multiple formats. Perform visual quality assurances against design specifications and rapidly solve issues. Ensure adherence to and the usage of templates and style guides. Adhere to and uses interaction patterns and templates to design prototypes that account for primary and secondary use cases, complex data exchanges, and error conditions. Contribute to the pattern library. Design and develop prototypes and technical proofs of concept using a range of technologies. Build interactive models that can access live content and build reusable components and tools to enable and facilitate prototyping. Diagnose and report prototyping problems found while building working models. Build and maintain customer relations to understand customer requirements and problems. Create customer journey touchpoints to anticipate product enhancements by pre-empting gaps/risks in the product experience. Simplifies and improves processes to reduce turnaround times, increase effectiveness, and drive customer delight. Build maintain and enhance effective internal and external partnerships and draft valuable information and seek input. Influence technical outcomes and assist in communicating shared goals with diverse groups and parties by linking their interests to that of the business. Identify and address additional partner technical needs and educate them on value creation. Consult regularly with leaders of business unit(s) and serve to advise on business strategy decisions.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 year of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.

Skills required: Experience creating end to end flows, information architecture, wireframing, and screen and animation prototypes by Figma, InVision, Zeplin, Sketch, and the Adobe Suite. Experience with design requirements gathering. Experience conducting Heuristic Evaluations of sites and applications. Experience with competitive analysis. Experience coordinating user testing efforts, interpreting test results, and incorporating results into design cadences. Experience collaborating stakeholders to define design scopes and acceptance criteria. Experience producing detailed design documentation and design specifications. Experience designing and documenting user flow diagrams and application information architecture using at least one of the following tools: Sketch, Figma, or InVision Freehand. Experience with platform-specific design systems, including Material and iOS design languages. Experience leading user journey discovery sessions and ideation activities to discover opportunities for product improvements. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $199,202/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
