Job Description -

Deli & Bakery Team Lead (formerly Fresh Production Team Supervisor):

This hourly management position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years Food & Beverage/Restaurant Management experience.

Essential Functions:

Ensures area of responsibility is maintained by training & supervising associates on proper processes and procedures; following company policies and procedures for preparing, handling, packaging, labeling, and storing food; ensuring proper operation and sanitation of food-related equipment; stocking and displaying/merchandising food products; ensuring the area is maintained and cleaned (for example, windows, mirrors, display cases and coolers) according to food safety and compliance regulation; and collaborating with Management to maintain accurate inventory as needed.

Provides customer service by identifying customer needs; recognizing and understanding customer traffic patterns; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; providing product knowledge; resolving customer issues and concerns; promoting department products and services; providing service-focused supervision to others; and maintaining a safe shopping environment.

Ensures merchandise is prepared based on daily production needs by monitoring inventory needs; operating department equipment (for example, oven, fryer, slicer); ensuring products are prepared based on customer specifications; ensuring merchandise is properly measured and stored; following formulas and baking instructions; following guidelines for wrapping, dating, labeling, and storing merchandise; and ensuring list of ingredients and sell-by dates are visible and accurate.

Supervises and directs associates in the food production areas by assigning duties and prioritizing workloads; communicating goals; providing feedback and follow-up; monitoring performance; teaching and supporting company policies and procedures; ensuring compliance checklist is followed; and responding to alerts and requests.

Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities.

Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.

Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.
