Position Summary...

What you'll do...As a Senior Design Researcher at Walmart, you will lead comprehensive user research initiatives to inform and enhance design strategies. Leveraging qualitative and quantitative methods, you will analyze user behaviors and stakeholder needs to deliver actionable insights that drive product innovation and customer satisfaction. This role requires collaboration across teams to synthesize data, anticipate risks, and propose solutions that align with business goals. Your expertise in design thinking and storytelling will support the development of user-centered experiences that advance Walmart’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

About the team:

The Monetization Design Research team at Walmart leads strategic customer research to inform the future of advertising and data products. Collaborating with Product, Design, and Business leaders, the team uncovers customer needs, evaluates concepts, and shapes product strategy across Data Ventures and Walmart Connect. The team builds a shared understanding of customers to support informed decisions, identify opportunities, and create connected experiences. Members excel in solving complex problems, influencing strategy through evidence, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver impactful outcomes using skills in user research, stakeholder engagement, storytelling, and design thinking.

What you'll do:

• Conduct comprehensive user research including interviews, surveys, and contextual inquiries to inform design strategies and identify experience gaps.
• Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights that enhance user interaction and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align research findings with business goals, ensuring effective communication and consensus building.
• Develop and guide research methodologies, verifying data accuracy and addressing inconsistencies to support design decisions.
• Translate research insights into clear recommendations that drive product improvements and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback to optimize user experience.
  
  

What you'll bring:

• Experience leading research for B2B, enterprise, or commercial products, with an understanding of the complexity of researching business users and workflows.
• Experience with Advertising Technology, Retail Media, Measurement, Analytics, or other data-driven platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate the unique challenges of B2B research—including recruiting hard-to-reach participants, working with commercial customers, and balancing customer, business, and technical needs.
• Proven ability to establish research best practices, create scalable frameworks, and elevate research quality across a team.
• Experience influencing product strategy across multiple teams while mentoring researchers and growing research capability.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $216,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 3 years’ experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.

Option 2: 5 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.
