Position Description
Wally’s Kitchen Team Members are essential to delivering outstanding guest service and ensuring the quality of Wally’s menu offerings. They are responsible for preparing and producing food items, maintaining clean and organized workstations, and supporting overall kitchen operations.
Successful Kitchen Team Members demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. They consistently meet or exceed food production standards, uphold all sanitation and safety requirements, and contribute to a guest-focused atmosphere that reflects Wally’s commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude at all times.
- Work cooperatively with fellow team members to complete daily tasks efficiently.
- Follow direction from Leads and Managers, asking questions when clarification is needed.
- Support teammates by assisting when tasks are behind or extra help is required.
Guest Experience & Service
- Provide an upbeat, polite, and pleasant guest experience while performing duties in a timely fashion.
- Treat all guests with courtesy and respect, modeling Wally’s standards of guest service.
- Direct guest concerns to a Lead or Manager promptly and professionally.
- Comply with uniform standards and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance.
Food Preparation & Production
- Prepare food menu items using food production equipment, kitchen utensils, and materials according to Wally’s recipes and SOPs.
- Follow portion guidelines and presentation standards to ensure consistent quality.
- Assist with cooking, assembling, and serving menu items as directed by Leads or Managers.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures, Company Policies, the Team Member Handbook, and management directives.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in compliance with state and company requirements.
- Keep workstations, utensils, pans, dishes, and equipment clean and sanitized at all times.
- Follow proper handwashing, glove use, and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns immediately.
Inventory & Supplies
- Assist with receiving, stocking, rotating, and properly storing food and kitchen supplies.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation practices to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Notify Leads or Managers when stock levels are low or items need replacement.
Collaboration & Other Duties
- Follow the direction of Leads and Managers to support daily operations.
- Assist other departments and special events when requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Kitchen Managers or Store Leadership.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior food service experience preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to communicate and/or write simple correspondence.
Ability to operate kitchen equipment, use kitchen utensils, follow ingredient lists, and basic instructions.
Basic knowledge of food sanitation.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Team Members are regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Overnight Schedule
10 pm - 6 am
Salary : $16 - $18
