Electrical Cable Associate

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6-12 months)
Hourly Rate: $26/hour
Schedule: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Start Date: December 29, 2025
Experience Required: 3 years

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Cable Associate to join our operations team. This hands-on role involves spooling, evaluating, repairing, testing, and maintaining electrical cables to ensure safe and efficient operation. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to meet changing operational demands and delivery targets while maintaining high-quality standards.

Required: Valid driver's license

Key Responsibilities

Cable Operations & Quality Control:

  • Accurately count and document cable lengths during spooling operations
  • Perform routine inspections and testing of cables to identify faults, damage, or wear using specialized diagnostic equipment
  • Diagnose and repair damaged or faulty cables and connectors to restore full functionality
  • Conduct cable splicing and termination following established procedures to ensure secure and reliable connections

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety standards, guidelines, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Follow proper handling procedures for both low-voltage and high-voltage cable systems

Documentation & Collaboration:

  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports, cable layouts, and testing results
  • Work closely with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet scheduled deadlines
  • Communicate effectively regarding project status, issues, and requirements

Technical Support:

  • Troubleshoot electrical cable issues using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge
  • Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure optimal working condition

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of proven experience as an electrical cable technician or in a similar technical role
  • Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage systems is a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in cable spooling, counting, evaluation, splicing, and termination techniques
  • Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools including multimeters, cable testers, and Hi-Pot equipment
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and industry best practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and cables
  • Comfortable working on feet for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Capable of working in various environmental conditions
