Optometrist

The position is located within a Target Optical in the Midway Saint Paul, and Swoop Eye Care in Richfield, MN. It is strongly encouraged that the optometrist have an interest in a particular niche (dry eye, low vision, binocular vision, pediatric eye care, etc.). This position has a lot of potential for growth along with support of the growing team. Each optometrist within the practice works with a trained optometry tech to help with pretesting, medical imaging, referrals, insurance, contact lens ordering, and many other supportive tasks. The position will require some Saturdays each month.

• Conduct eye exams using optometric equipment and general diagnostic interpretation.
• Diagnose and treat ocular disease.
• Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses.
• Provides patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract and laser vision correction, with pre- and post-operative care.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with regulatory standards and insurers.
• Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
• Answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding eye and vision health.
• Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
• Direct staff and assist in the development of the overall practice.
• Strong support for a particular niche in optometry such as: binocular vision, dry eye, pediatric eye care, low vision, etc.
• Be able to provide diagnosis and appropriate billing codes for patient visits.
• Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
