As Yard Attendant, you'll ensure the smooth and efficient loading and unloading of cargo, keeping accurate records of work orders and maintaining a safe and organized yard environment.
Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage and optimize yard operations by coordinating truck movements and cargo loading
- Operate handheld devices and terminal system to track and update cargo locations, work orders, and equipment types
- Contribute to process improvement, ensure safety and quality standards
- Opportunity to train new employees
- Remain flexible to perform duties as assigned
Job Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Ability to read and understand department SOPs, and ability to quickly learn processes
- Must be capable of carrying our specific work procedures and directions of management and leads
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues
- Must be capable of meeting/exceeding the required production standards
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
- Must understand basic math
- Be motivated, self-directed and detail oriented
- Must be able to lift, carry and hold items up to 50lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Great communication and teamwork mindset
- Possess good hand/eye coordination
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions, extreme hot or cold
- Willing and able to frequently learn new technology and equipment

At Wallenius Wilhelmsen and across our businesses, salaries are determined by position, level, location, and similar factors. The pay or salary range listed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum projected rate of pay for the specific position across our United States locations. Equally as important, as a team member, individual earnings may consider knowledge, skills, abilities, work location and related factors. The current starting hourly pay for this position is $20.00 - $22.00. Wallenius Wilhelmsen team members are also eligible for annual merit-based salary adjustments, and participation in competitive benefit programs. Some roles in the company may offer an additional annual bonus. Additional details on salary or pay ranges and benefits will be available through the interview and employment process. Salary or pay ranges are separate from bonus opportunities and/or benefit plans.
