Inventory Specialist

Inventory Specialist - Heavy Equipment and Parts- Houston, TX

This position is essential for maintaining the seamless movement of parts in our high and heavy container processing center. Your duties will span several areas such as overseeing warehouse activities, handling incoming and outgoing shipments, managing inventory, as well as verifying the correct receipt and delivery of equipment and components.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Oversee, track, and report on inventory (parts) used in the assembly of heavy machinery.
• Conduct audits, quality checks, and discrepancy analysis on inventory and shipments.
• Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move parts within the warehouse and load/unload containers and trucks.
• Assist with receiving and scheduling deliveries, inspecting, and verifying part counts and quality.
• Maintain visual oversight of inventory levels and notify stakeholders of potential stock shortages.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• At least two years warehouse inventory experience
• Physically able to perform the job safely:
  • standing, walking, bending, twisting, using stairs
  • able to lift, carry and hold items up to 50 lbs
  • work in all weather conditions.
• Carry out specified work procedures, follow directions of supervisors and lead persons
• A valid driver's license, good driving record
• Read, understand, and follow Standard Operation Sheets (SOP)
• Must have computer skills including data entry and understanding of inventory process
• Ability to multi-task, work in a fast pace environment This role involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions, extreme cold, and occasionally high places, fumes/particles, chemicals, outdoor elements, and potential electrical hazards

The starting rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.   Wallenius Wilhelmsen team members are also eligible for annual merit-based salary adjustments, and participation in competitive benefit programs.
