Keen Transport is seeking a Diesel Truck Mechanic at our League City, TX location.
Shift: Mon-Fri (8am - 5pm)
Starting at $24.00 an hour based on experience
Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks
- Service, repair and diagnose brakes, suspension, axles and electrical systems
- Move trucks and forklifts throughout the property
- Operate specialized tooling and vehicles
- Maintain proficiency on equipment and technologies that enhance our productivity
- Properly document all equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations into electronic maintenance program/completion of paperwork.
- Perform proper safety protocols and procedures, including use of protective equipment, and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure work area is always clean, safe, and organized
- Interact in a respectful and professional manner with drivers and shop management
Job Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, and overtime as needed.
- 5 years of verifiable experience in truck repair and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of Cummins engines and diagnostics
- A valid and clean driver's license
- Air Brakes certification
- Basic hand tools required for heavy duty truck maintenance
- Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC)
- Basic computer skills
- Strong work ethic, teamwork Mindset and great character
EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE
- Diesel tech school diploma
- Previous or current ASE certifications
- Class A CDL
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional shop/yard environment. Frequent exposure to the elements (such as dust, dirt, rain,) and chemicals (such as fumes and fluids) occur during operation of construction and agricultural equipment, cranes, forklifts, welding, painting, etc.
