Worker must have at least 3 months of experience with irrigation and operation of farming equipment (tractors, swathers, balers, skid steers). Experience working with livestock and maintenance and repair of equipment is also desirable. This position is approximately 80% farming. Specific duties include irrigating (sideroll sprinklers, gated pipe and flood irrigation systems), cutting, baling and stacking hay. 20% of the position includes feeding and oversight of livestock. Assists with branding, castrating, vaccinating, tagging, loading cattle onto trucks, building and maintaining fences. Other duties may be assigned by the ranch owner appropriate for a farm/ranch worker. Employees required to participate in FAMLI according to Colorado law, may have required deductions of .45% of their wages for FAMLI premiums. Employer will abide by all of Colorado's agricultural laws to include Senate Bill 21-087 ("SB87") and the Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards Order (COMPS order) #38. Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers.
