Role and Responsibilities of a Patient Service Representative (PSR) 1. Greet and assist patients in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. 2. Register new patients with accurate patient and insurance information and update existing accounts as needed, utilizing special software and procedures. 3. Collect payments and co-payments, keeping an accurate ledger of both, balancing ledgers and deposit daily. 4. Answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments in APM and RIS systems, confirm patients day before scan, ensuring understanding of prep. 5. Take concise, accurate phone messages, execute solutions and/or forward via electronic tasking as appropriate. 6. Fax and/or scan confidential patient information. Fax and/or mail studies and reports to outside ordering physicians. 7. Maintain referral and pre-authorizations ready status for upcoming procedures. 8. Communicate with providers and nurses create an efficient work environment. 9. Train other receptionists when necessary. 10 Using EHR software, accurately index and file scanned documents and information into patient’s electronic medical record. 11. Ability to maneuver online websites and software including login, accessing the daily schedule, search for patient, accessing patient profile, using the tool bar to update patient location, process phone calls, accessing unfished calls, use a text template, view task list, work task list, create new task and other competencies as required by department. 12. Protect the confidentiality of patient’s personal, financial, and medical information. 13. Other duties as assigned.
Role and Responsibilities of a Dexa Technician 1. Main responsibility is performing routine bone density studies in a proficient manner. 2. Knowledge of dexa equipment and RIS/PACS. 3. Communicate with patients in an informative, personable and professional way. 4. To maintain equipment and room cleanliness. 5. Ability to be flexible and to work constructively within a group. 6. Maintain patient privacy at all times. 7. Physically able to lift and assist patients. 8. Understanding of CPT and ICD 10 coding. 9. Would like, but not required, experience in Dexa.
