Responsibilities
- Engage with clients through motivational interviewing, harm reduction strategies, and recovery peer support to promote positive behavioral change.
- Provide crisis management and crisis intervention during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients experiencing mental health or substance use crises.
- Share personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and foster trust, while maintaining strict confidentiality of client information.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and to document client progress, treatment plans, and incident reports accurately.
- Offer mentoring and social work support tailored to the unique cultural backgrounds of diverse populations, promoting inclusivity and respect.
- Assist clients in developing coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and connecting them with community resources for ongoing support.
- Advocate for client needs through peer support advocacy initiatives, emphasizing client empowerment and shared decision-making.
Skills
- Strong crisis management and crisis intervention capabilities with a calm, proactive approach.
- Deep understanding of behavioral health, addiction counseling, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders.
- Experience working with individuals facing substance use challenges and mental health conditions across diverse cultural communities.
