Duties
- Operate groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and hand tools to maintain lawns, gardens, and other outdoor areas
- Assist with landscape installation, planting, pruning, and plant identification to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
- Perform routine lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aerating to keep landscapes vibrant and well-manicured
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and adjusting schedules as needed for optimal watering
- Support seasonal tasks such as snow plowing or debris removal to ensure safety and accessibility during adverse weather conditions
- Follow all safety protocols diligently while handling pesticides, herbicides, or other chemicals in accordance with regulations
- Conduct groundskeeping inspections to identify maintenance needs and report issues promptly for timely resolution
Requirements
- Prior outdoor work experience or familiarity with landscaping activities preferred but not required; enthusiasm for outdoor environments is essential
- Basic mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools; ability to operate hand tools safely
- Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, and pesticide management is a plus
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and procedures at all times during operations
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment operation
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on the scope of work in certain locations
