What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Office Clerk position at Walkers Furniture and Mattress?
The Receptionist/Office Clerk will be responsible for providing high-quality customer service and administrative support such as, helping customers who are picking up orders, coordinating with our warehouse team, answering phones, and performing other office related tasks.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position. The Receptionist/Office Clerk schedule is Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a positive attitude towards customers and coworkers.
- Greets customers and other visitors entering the establishment, determines nature and purpose of visit, and directs them to specific destinations.
- Operates multiline phone system to answer, screen, or forward calls, provide information or take messages. Utilizes a radio to communicate with coworkers.
- Performs administrative support tasks, such as operating computers to work with payment records, customer invoices and other documents.
- Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.

- Attends department meetings and trainings as needed.
Qualifications
- Great customer service skills.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Good ability to utilize computer and related programs to complete tasks.
- Excellent ability to handle multi-line phone system.
- Prior receptionist and front desk related experience is preferred.
- Successful candidates will be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Compensation/Benefits
- Compensation starts between $17.50 per hour.
- Monthly Bonuses (not guaranteed, based on company-wide performance, averaged $200 per month last year)
