About Us
This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day import operations to ensure efficent and courteous service to customers in the most cost effective manner possible, following established company policy and applicable government regulations.
Responsibilities
- Initiates and implemennts cost savings initiatives, as directed.
- Assists and supports management with strategic planning, as directed.
- Coordinates and assists with all import functions to ensure smooth, productive, efficient and profitable operations.
- Establishes and maintains good relationships with both customers and employees.
- Seeks and implements improved methods of operations as approved by management, pertaining to import shipments.
- Assists customers and employee with problems and/or special handling requirement.
- Trains import personnel in company policies, customer service, customs procedures and all aspects of imports.
- Maintains and promotes positive communications with peers, management, subordinates, customers, Customs and transportation companies.
- Recommends actions relative to selection, promotion, compensation and disciplinary action of import employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience related experience
- Attention to Detail, critical
- Must be proficient in coordinating priorities, following up and meeting deadlines
- Proficient in the use of MS office Suite, plus familiarity with Cargowise system preferred
