Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems on construction sites, adhering to blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, including electrical schematics and construction blueprints, to accurately execute projects.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete electrical installations and repairs.
- Conduct testing of electrical circuits using tools such as ohmmeters, ammeters, and other testing devices to ensure proper functionality.
- Follow all safety protocols in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and local regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals like frame carpenters and project managers to coordinate tasks smoothly.
- Document work progress through detailed reports and logs, ensuring compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical installations.
- Familiarity with NEC standards, construction site safety practices, and the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, as well as power tools like drills and saws.
- Ability to operate testing equipment including ohmmeters, ammeters, and other diagnostic tools effectively.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of framing carpentry is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
