The Server is responsible for delivering a polished, attentive, and engaging dining experience that reflects the elevated hospitality standards of Walker Hotel. This role requires strong service fundamentals, product knowledge, clear communication, and the ability to anticipate guest needs while maintaining pace and professionalism in a hotel-driven environment.
Servers are accountable for the guest experience at their tables from greeting through closeout and are expected to work collaboratively with the broader team to maintain service flow and dining room standards.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports to: Restaurant Management
Works closely with: Hosts, Bartenders, Expo, Food Runners, Bussers, and FOH Leadership
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service & Hospitality Standards
Servers set the standard for guest engagement and service consistency.
• Deliver polished, attentive service aligned with Walker Hotel expectations
• Guide guests through menu and beverage offerings with confidence and clarity
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and maintain ownership of the table experience
• Manage guest recovery by escalating concerns appropriately and following through
Order Accuracy, Timing & Execution
Servers are responsible for accurate orders and effective coordination with the kitchen and bar.
• Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders
• Communicate clearly with expo, kitchen, and bar to support accurate execution
• Monitor ticket times and pacing; proactively address delays and guest expectations
• Confirm order accuracy before delivery and resolve issues promptly
Dining Room Standards & Table Maintenance
Servers maintain a professional dining room presentation and support clean, organized service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned section and service stations
• Coordinate with bussers and food runners to clear and reset tables efficiently
• Follow standards for table setup, clearing, check presentation, and closeout
• Maintain a polished, hotel-level environment throughout service
Team Communication & Collaboration
Strong teamwork is required to maintain smooth service flow.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and execute daily priorities
• Communicate guest notes and timing needs to the team as appropriate
• Support teammates during peak periods while maintaining standards in your section
• Maintain professional, respectful communication under pressure

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
This is a hospitality role within a hotel restaurant that operates year-round. Schedules may include a mix of days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Employees are scheduled in accordance with availability approved by management at the time of hire. Schedule needs may vary week to week, and flexibility is important to support overall operations.
ROLE NOTES
• This role does not include supervisory responsibilities
• Consistency, attention to detail, and guest focus are critical to success
• Servers work under the direction of management and in coordination with FOH support roles
