Warehouse Driver / Material Handler Summary
We are seeking an energetic, experienced individual to join our company as a Warehouse Driver/Material Handler. As part of our warehouse and delivery team, you will use hand trucks and forklifts to load and unload delivery vehicles and drive vehicles to delivery locations. You will accurately keep records of all inventories, both received and delivered, and observe safe workplace rules and guidelines when unloading and transporting cargo.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload box trucks and other vehicles.
- Use forklift to move pallets and large items from warehouse to trucks.
- Keep accurate records of items shipped and received.
- Safely drive trucks to delivery locations and unload goods.
- Receive, verify, stage and stock/inventory all incoming material.
- Responsible for inspection/care of material handling equipment, as needed.
- Safe/proper operation of material handling equipment, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean record.
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift.
- Experience loading and unloading in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with warehouse inventory management.
- Good Communication and organization skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry.
- Must be able to work positively within a team environment.
- Must be able to learn quickly and have a desire to succeed.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify solutions with minimal assistance.
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a corporate office and warehouse with exposure to other employees and contractors.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- This job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employee, subcontractors and trades.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
- Ability to comprehend forms in space and understand relationships of plane and solid objects. May be used in such tasks as blueprint reading and in solving geometry problems. Frequently described as the ability to “visualize” objects of two and three dimensions, or to think visually of geometric forms.
- Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. The frequency of manipulation if frequently.
- Ability to move up or mount by using the hands or feet to include:
- Ladders - Step stool, 8' to 10' ladder, extension ladder
- Stairways - 3 or more flights
- To bend forward or down from the middle of the waist or the middle of the back, to bend, downwards, to lower oneself and/or to move freely on hands and knees between 20-50 times daily.
- To stretch out, extend, or put forth a bodily part. To touch or grasp something, by extending or stretching. To touch, lift, hold or operate with the hands up to 50 times daily.
- To perceive or comprehend by the sense of sight.
- Characteristics are Focus, Color perception or depth perception.
- The ability to operate or convey in a vehicle, car, commercial vehicle.
