About the Role:
Walker Engineering is hiring licensed Journeyman Electricians of all levels (J1–J3) to support major commercial, data center, and mission-critical projects. You’ll work under the direction of a Foreman or Superintendent performing installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems. Senior Journeyman may lead and direct apprentices or helpers.
What You’ll Do:
- Lay out, prep, and install electrical materials and equipment
- Perform underground layout and rough-in work
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit
- Install and terminate switchgear, BUSS feeders, and power distribution systems
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits, systems, and components
- Maintain safe work practices and instruct helpers when assigned
Ensure productivity and quality align with Walker Engineering standards
What You Bring:
- Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License (or ability to transfer equivalent license)
- Current Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship program (8,000 hours)
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, NEC, and job-site safety
- Ability to work independently or as part of a crew
