Walker Drawas is a boutique PR and brand marketing agency headquartered in New York City with offices in Los Angeles. We partner with forward-thinking brands across fashion, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle to build cultural relevance, drive earned media, and deliver campaigns that resonate. Our press department sits at the intersection of storytelling, relationships, and results.

We are seeking a sharp, connected, and highly motivated Account Director to lead press strategy and day-to-day execution across a roster of beauty, wellness, and lifestyle clients. This is a senior individual contributor and team leadership role reporting directly to agency leadership. The ideal candidate has deep roots in the beauty and wellness media landscape, a strong network of editors and digital tastemakers, and the creative instincts to translate brand DNA into compelling narratives.

This position is based in our New York City office and plays an integral role in shaping the agency's beauty and wellness vertical, supporting new business development, and mentoring junior staff.

Press Strategy & Execution

• Own the development and execution of comprehensive press strategies for beauty, wellness, and lifestyle clients
• Secure meaningful earned media placements across print, digital, and broadcast — spanning outlets including Vogue, Allure, Well Good, Byrdie, WWD, New York Times Styles, and beyond
• Experienced across social first outlets and new media like podcasts, panels, substack
• Experience in affiliate media programming
• Experience working on talent-led initiatives with celebrities
• Drive seasonal pitching calendars, product launch campaigns, and brand moment strategies from concept through coverage
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with beauty, wellness, and lifestyle editors, writers, producers, and digital creators
• Oversee the creation of press materials including pitches, press releases, media alerts, and editorial narratives

Client Management

• Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact for assigned accounts, ensuring exceptional service and proactive communication
• Lead client status calls, reporting, and quarterly strategy reviews
• Provide counsel to clients on media landscape trends, brand positioning, and campaign optimization
• Manage client budgets, timelines, and deliverables with accuracy and accountability

Team Leadership & Agency Contribution

• Supervise and mentor Account Managers and Account Executives within the beauty and wellness department
• Collaborate with Walker Drawas' digital, experiential, and social teams to develop integrated campaign concepts
• Contribute actively to new business pitches and agency growth initiatives within the beauty and wellness space
• Participate in agency-wide creative brainstorms and represent the department in cross-functional planning

• 7 years of PR experience with a strong focus on beauty, wellness, and/or lifestyle brands, agency-side preferred
• Proven track record of securing top-tier media coverage across national print, digital, and broadcast outlets
• Established relationships with key editors, journalists, and creators across beauty and wellness media
• Experience managing skincare, haircare, supplements, fitness, or wellness brand accounts is a strong plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives under deadline
• Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously
• Collaborative leadership style with experience managing and growing junior team members
• Deep knowledge of the current media landscape, emerging platforms, and evolving beauty culture
• New York-based and available to work in-office
