Administrator Responsibilities
* Supervise the daily administrative operations.
* Monitor district expenses and suggest cost-effective alternatives.
* Create annual budget in conjunction with the Chair of the Board of Managers and the approval of the board of managers.
* Develop and implement effective policies, all operational procedures, subject to the approval of the managers.
* Maintain organized employee records.
* Monitor the administrative staff’s performance and report to the Chair.
* Train new employees and the Board of Managers regarding the conflict-of-interest policies, as well as open records and open meetings requirements applicable to governmental entities.
* Ensure that all Board of Managers comply with the Office of the Attorney General’s educational video regarding the responsibilities of members of governmental districts.
*Answer queries from the public, the press, and Huntsville Memorial Hospital administration, in consultation with the Chair.
* Stay up-to-date with applicable governmental laws and regulations, including, without limitation, the Texas laws applicable to the Walker County Hospital District, the Texas Medicaid Program, Medicaid Supplement Payments, The Indigent Care Act, and the Open Records and Open Meetings Act.
* Prepare agendas for meetings of the Board of Managers.
*Understand and implement the voting requirements related to elections of members of The Board of Managers. Ensure compliance with voting requirements.
*Review and monitor contracts to ensure services and payments are appropriate.
* If requested by the managers, analyze community needs and make recommendations regarding enhancement or implementation of medical services beneficiaries of the citizens of Walker County.
REQUIREMENTS
*Proven work experience in healthcare management.
*Knowledge of hospital industry.
*Hands-on experience with database systems and MS Excel, Windows.
*Understanding of healthcare regulations applicable to federal, state, and local laws.
* Oversee budgeting, expense tracking and maximizing revenue.
*Excellent organizational and time management skills.
*Ability to supervise and train staff.
*BS degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or relevant field.
*Be able to build positive relationships with the community, elected officials and stakeholders.
*Salary – determined by years of experience.
*Work hours – 32 hours / week
