Payroll Coordinator

Office Location: Portage, MI (hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time regular (40 hours per week; M-F)

Your Role at Walker

In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role requires a strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll regulations, and proficiency in payroll software.

Responsibilities

• Review timesheets and process payroll accurately for hourly and salaried employees


• Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholdings, deductions, and benefits


• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and benefits


• Maintain payroll files and records in accordance with company policy and legal requirements


• Assist with payroll audits and reconciliations


• Utilize payroll software to process payroll and generate reports


• Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate payroll data

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

 An associate's degree is preferred.

Other Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting or Finance


• 1 year of data entry experience preferred, ideally in payroll or accounting


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Excellent organizational and time management skills


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Work Environment:

• This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings or training sessions

• A hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office) schedule is available after initial training and onboarding
