Job Overview
Walker Construction is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our growing team in Lewes. We are looking for dependable operators experienced with excavation, demolition, grading, site work, and material handling.
Applicants should have experience operating equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers, and similar heavy equipment. CDL experience or the ability to operate dump trucks and roll-off trucks is a plus, but not required.
We are looking for motivated individuals who take pride in their work, can work safely, and function well as part of a team on active construction and demolition job sites throughout Sussex County and surrounding areas.
Full-time positions are available, and part-time opportunities may also be considered for experienced operators.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment on construction and demolition sites
- Perform excavation, grading, loading, and site preparation work
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Work with crews to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements
Qualifications
- Experience operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, or similar equipment
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Strong work ethic and dependability
- CDL license is a plus
