Driver Recruiter

Walgre Transport is a growing transportation company operating a fleet of 150 semi-trucks throughout the United States and Canada. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced CDL-A Driver Recruiter to join our team in Columbus, Ohio.

Previous CDL truck driver recruiting experience is required. We are seeking someone who understands the trucking industry, enjoys building relationships with professional drivers, and thrives in a fast-paced recruiting environment.

Position Overview

As a CDL-A Driver Recruiter, you will recruit qualified solo drivers and established teams to support our growing fleet. Driver leads are provided through our Tenstreet recruiting database, and you will guide applicants through the hiring process from initial contact to orientation.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact prospective CDL-A drivers by phone, text, and email
• Recruit qualified solo drivers and established driving teams
• Explain pay, benefits, home time, and available driving opportunities
• Build strong relationships with prospective drivers
• Follow up consistently with applicants and maintain an active recruiting pipeline
• Review applications and identify qualified candidates
• Maintain applicant records and recruiting activity in Tenstreet
• Coordinate background checks, MVRs, employment verification, and required hiring documents
• Schedule qualified applicants for new-hire orientation
• Work closely with the Safety and Recruiting Administration teams throughout the hiring process

Qualifications

• Previous CDL truck driver recruiting experience required
• Knowledge of the trucking and transportation industry
• Experience using Tenstreet preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong relationship-building and follow-up abilities
• Comfortable making a high volume of outbound recruiting calls
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills

Compensation

• Starting salary of $55,000 per year, based on experience

Work Location

This is a full-time, in-office position based at our Columbus, Ohio terminal. Remote work is not available.
