INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - Waldron Elementary School

JOB DESCRIPTION

Waldron Elementary is seeking an instructional assistant for the 2026-27 school year.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work alongside the classroom teacher to meet the individual learning needs of all students. 

• Assist students in grades K-5 in small group settings and general education classrooms.  

• Emphasis on English/Language Arts and math skills.  

• Other duties assigned by principal/designee. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.  

• Must pass a background check through Shelby Eastern Schools.  

• Emphasis on teamwork, a positive attitude, and a desire to build relationships with students, parents, community members, and fellow staff members. 

The starting salary for new instructional assistants is $14.75 per hour.  Part-Time 28 hours per week.  Additional compensation possible depending on degree held.
