What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Waldron Area Schools?
Position: 6-12th grade Math Teacher – Full Time
Reports to: Superintendent
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with 6-12th grade Math Endorsement
- Strong academic background in math teaching, or willingness to learn.
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information (student growth, classroom happenings, etc.)
- Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on a regular basis.
- Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing.
- Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations.
- Provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that is exciting and educational for young learners.
- Other duties as assigned by Administration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are in accordance with the district-provided curriculum.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
