About the Position
We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, works well with the doctor and team, and is comfortable working in a busy general dentistry environment.
This position involves both clinical and occasional front-office support. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and willing to take initiative to help keep the office running efficiently.
What You Will Do
- Assist the dentist during general dentistry procedures and provide efficient chairside support.
- Prepare operatories and treatment rooms before and between patients.
- Set up and break down instruments and treatment areas while following proper infection-control procedures.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA and infection-control standards.
- Take and process dental radiographs while following appropriate radiation-safety procedures.
- Assist with patient seating, preparation, and post-treatment instructions.
- Help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
- Follow HIPAA requirements and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Keep operatories, instruments, and clinical areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Assist with scheduling, patient communication, and other front-office responsibilities when needed.
- Work closely with the dentist, and front-office team to provide a smooth patient experience.
- Perform other duties associated with the efficient operation of a dental practice.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
- Experience in a general dentistry office is a plus.
- Current dental radiography/X-ray certification or the ability to legally perform dental radiography in Maryland.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, terminology, and anatomy.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with patients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, professional attitude.
- Experience with digital dental imaging or intraoral scanning is a plus.
Schedule
Monday through Friday
Part time or Full time
This is an in-person position.
Compensation
Starting at $20.00 per hour, final amount based on experience and qualifications.
