Weekend shift is Friday - Sunday, 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Work 36 hours and get paid 40 hours.
Purpose:
The Press Brake Operator plays a crucial role in the fabrication process, ensuring that products meet both client and employer specifications. This position requires expertise in operating press brake machinery while adhering to safety protocols and producing high-quality parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize proper safety equipment at all times.
- Follow established procedures, work instructions, and print requirements to consistently produce accurate and high-quality parts that align with customer expectations.
- Actively contribute troubleshooting insights and suggestions for process enhancements to foster continuous departmental growth.
- Meet and strive to exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the department's success.
- Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings, and specifications with precision.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Select operating programs from the database and effectively mount fixtures for production tasks.
- Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements specific to the assigned location, including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, and closed-toed or safety shoes.
- Maintain regular, timely attendance in accordance with the work schedule.
- Execute any other tasks as assigned by Wald Wire Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication operations, capabilities, and equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficient in identifying mechanical issues and suggesting improvements.
- Ability to obtain required certifications as necessary.
- Competence in reading and utilizing measurement tools.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Post-secondary education in fabrication preferred.
- Prior experience operating a Cincinnati or Amada Press Brake Machine.
- Prior experience with metal fabrication operations and equipment handling.
- Proficient in understanding and interpreting blueprints and product specifications.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary for measuring and calculations
- Ability to communicate information accurately and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regularly required to stand and manipulate objects using hands. Must be able to walk, stoop, bend, crouch, and reach above shoulder level.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds unassisted, and up to 100 pounds with assistance, at waist height and up to 10 feet away.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
