Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for all Human Resources functions at Wald Wire & Manufacturing Co. This role serves as a liaison between employees and management and supports all departments through policy design, enforcement, recruitment, retention, and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain all human resources documents such as job descriptions, employee handbooks, performance evaluation forms, etc.
- Confer with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures and update them as needed
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, etc., and recommend needed changes
- Conduct job analysis to create job descriptions company-wide and update them annually
- Create standardized performance evaluations using relevant research, statistics, and management input
Manage and operate HRIS system - iSolve
Analyze training needs and respond with new programs or modify current programs
- Author and assist in administering new employee/temp-worker safety training, and review and modify when necessary
- Design and conduct monthly safety training to comply with OSHA standards and improve overall safety culture
- Ensure proper documentation of all training
Plan and administer employee acquisition and retention programs
- Confer with management and department heads to establish current and future workforce demand
- Responsible for the full-cycle recruiting process, sourcing, interviewing, job offers or turndowns, and orientation.
- Confer with management and/or department heads to choose new hires and send out offers
- Assists with administering benefits programs, including insurance coverage, vacation, leave, 401(K), etc.
- Make suggestions for modification to the existing benefits program and create additional employee retention programs and activities
Create and maintain programs to keep the company compliant with applicable employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, OSHA, EEO, ADA, ACA, etc.
- Assist in the creation of workplace safety procedures and documents
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
- Ensure human resource documents are up to date with current law and regulations
- Handle all workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
Assist department managers in policy enforcement and managing employee performance
- Track, schedule, and assist in the administration of performance evaluations
- Confer with department heads to assess personnel issues
- Notify department heads when disciplinary action is called for and author necessary disciplinary documentation
Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
Any other tasks as assigned by Wald Wire Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge required in the following: Recruiting, Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Working knowledge of employment law and regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Ability to appropriately and professionally challenge and influence others
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgment on HR and business issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management
- SHRM-CP / PHR is preferred
- 4 years’ Experience in the human resources field
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in the manufacturing environment preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Environment is climate-controlled
- Sitting / Screen time 6 hours/day
- Bending, stretching, & occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
