This position offers a dynamic blend of office and production responsibilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with computers and possess the flexibility to transition seamlessly between office and production tasks multiple times throughout the day.
Purpose:
As a buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing product lines on behalf of our company. The role is vital, as our business activities cannot begin without the necessary stock. The quality of our shelves and the variety of products are essential for our success. The goal is to ensure that the business consistently has adequate stock that meets its requirements. That way, we can deliver value to our customers through high-quality products and facilitate sustainable growth. As a shipping and receiving clerk, you are responsible for preparing orders for delivery within your area of responsibility in accordance with client and employer specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase\
Monitor stock levels
Create reports on sales, budgets, and customer satisfaction, and adjust your strategies accordingly.
Create and manage paint POs
- Works closely with paint vendors to expedite orders and ensure lead times are being met
- Tracks on-time delivery
Perform shipping and receiving activities when the shipping and receiving coordinator is out.
- Palletize and otherwise prepare product in accordance with standard procedure and/or customer requirements
- Weigh and/or count parts to ensure shipments are being made in accurate quantities
- Generate labels to reflect information such as customer, weight, shipping method, and/or other shipping information, and affix labels to shipments
- Sign for receipt of materials and complete any necessary paperwork required for receipt
- Record material received, weight and/or quantity, and other pertinent information in inventory
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy
- Move material to the proper location within the warehouse, raw material storage, or other department of Wald Wire
- Submit necessary paperwork to the office for payment and recording
Foster a culture of safety by practicing safe work habits, participating in safety training, wearing PPE, and instructing team members to wear appropriate PPE for their tasks.
Assist in other production areas as needed.
Any other tasks as assigned by Wald Wire Management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficient in MS Office
- Communicate information accurately
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to operate forklift
- Ability to read blue prints
- Familiarity with ERP software
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must frequently use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee must periodically walk, stoop, crouch, bend, and reach above the shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Temperatures can vary from cool to warm, depending on the season. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks, and closed-toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
