Purpose:

The Shipping Administrator is responsible for all administrative functions regarding shipping products to customers and outside services and following up with those outside services and trucking companies as necessary to facilitate on-time deliveries. In addition, the Shipping Administrator is a Wald Wire administrative team member responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date production documentation to support our plant team members in meeting customer-requested delivery dates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deduct the previous day's completed production hours from the production schedule daily
  • Maintain accurate documentation to reflect stock parts' inventory
  • Translate information provided by forming and cutting departments to calculate wire inventory used each week
  • Update the E2 system and supporting documents related to product pricing, cutting requirements, and production for new products, as well as changes to existing product specifications or the quoted price of existing products
  • Administrate clerical shipping functions to ensure on-time delivery and lowest-cost shipping methods
  • Act as the primary contact between the company and current and potential shipping vendors, initiating trucks, fielding questions, and receiving quotes for Wald Wire shipped product
  • Generate and distribute all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, delivery tickets, and invoices
  • Promptly update the Oshkosh WIP sheet and E2 system to reflect actual and expected ship dates
  • Manage UPS account, generating labels to ship packages when necessary
  • Analyze quotes for all Wald Wire paid freight shipping options to reduce costs while balancing expected due dates
  • Maintain knowledge of each customer's preferred shipping method, honor customer requests, and act upon requests to change standard methods
  • Update the shipping schedule to reflect the completed product and its anticipated ship date and method for the following week
  • Supply customers with NAFTA certificates upon request
  • Work with other members of the Wald Wire team to manage day-to-day office tasks
  • Create and maintain filing systems for cutting bills, invoices, purchase orders, quotes, packing slips, etc.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, routing calls and messages to appropriate team members
  • Assist in maintaining a clean office environment by performing light cleaning duties as needed
  • Support other Wald Wire administrative and management team members in their tasks when necessary
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Wald Wire Management

  • E2 Shop Management System
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Common Office Equipment

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office required
  • Experience in manufacturing administration preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • 6 hours of screen time/ day
  • Environment is climate controlled
  • Continual contact with others

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
