Carlson Design Group is seeking a creative, highly talented Structural Designer II to join our engineering team as part of our expanding business. Carlson’s market focus includes Mission Critical, Light Industrial, Financial Services, and Commercial sectors. Location: Atlanta, GA or Detroit, MI, includes some travel
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:
- Develop structural design solutions for project components and systems
- Support the Structural Team Lead on assigned projects
- Prepare schematic designs and Construction Documents using modeling software
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of drawings and documentation
- Coordinate work with other disciplines
- Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with Contract Documents
Qualifications
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Structural Engineering firm
- High proficiency in CAD and Revit
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
- Understanding of applicable model codes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed work ethic
