The Solar Design Technician will work with a project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical and site improvement plans according to budget constraints, design factors and client requirements.
Responsibilities
Payne & Dolan is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented, problem-solver who has a desire to be part of our growing engineering design group. Responsibilities to include:
- Create and modify electrical and site improvement drawings using AutoCAD
- Enforce project-specific drafting standards
- Support construction administration tasks from concept to commissioning phase
- Perform site reviews and construction site visits
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Must be a reliable, efficient self-starter with initiative and a sense of responsibility
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology or Renewable Energy Systems
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Functional understanding of electrical components such as PV modules, inverters, transformers, surge arresters, and circuit breakers.
- Knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with electrical engineering standards / codes including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, UL & NESC
- Ability to keep accurate and detailed records or notes
