Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer supports Walbec Groups sourcing and purchasing mechanical parts or related material for maintenance and production. This role ensures all purchases are cost-effective, high-quality and delivered on time while maintaining accurate inventory levels and strong supplier relationships.

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer supports Walbec Groups sourcing and purchasing mechanical parts or related material for maintenance and production. This role ensures all purchases are cost-effective, high-quality and delivered on time while maintaining accurate inventory levels and strong supplier relationships.
Role And Responsibilities
- Purchase and source parts and materials for equipment.
- Work with vendors to obtain competitive pricing, lead times, and availability.
- Research new suppliers and maintain strong relationships with existing ones.
- Create and manage purchase orders, vendor managed inventory (VMI) and returns or shortages.
- Maintain accurate data entries, part numbers, and Min/Max inventory levels.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and operations teams to identify part needs and resolve supply or delivery issues.
- Monitor usage trends and recommend adjustments to inventory levels.
- Assist in removing obsolete parts and improving material flow processes.
- Support continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives.
- Perform other related duties assigned.

The Candidate
- 2 years of purchasing or buying experience, preferably within construction, industrial or mechanical environments.
- Experience with Microsoft office and ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
- BS in Business, Economics, or Supply-Chain Management.
- Knowledge of mechanical and equipment parts.
